CD Projekt Reveals ‘Witcher IV’ With a New Female Protagonist
The hotly anticipated game will feature Ciri, the adopted daugher of the original lead character

CD Projekt SA gave a sneak peek of The Witcher IV, the long-awaited addition to the popular fantasy roleplaying game series, centered around the adopted daughter of the franchise’s longstanding protagonist.
In a nearly six-minute, pre-rendered trailer unveiled at The Game Awards, Ciri is shown saving a young woman offered as a sacrifice by her father and her village. Decked out in some of the same gear that her father Geralt of Rivia wore through three games and a Netflix series, Ciri proceeds to slay a monster through a combination of swordplay and magic familiar to series fans. The latest game is being developed using customized Unreal Engine 5 technology, the company said without revealing a release date.
