IOSCO Unveils Its Standards for Voluntary Carbon Markets

The global umbrella group for the world’s securities and markets regulators has unveiled its own set of standards for how to trade credits in the voluntary carbon markets.

The International Organization of Securities Commissions released its final report at the COP29 climate summit in Azerbaijan, with a view to “promoting the financial integrity and orderly functioning” of VCMs, it said in a statement on Thursday.
