Democrat Andy Kim became the first Korean-American to be elected to the US Senate by defeating Republican Curtis Bashaw in New Jersey.
Kim, 42, was first elected to the US House in 2018. He will take the seat previously held by Bob Menendez, who resigned after being convicted on federal corruption charges.
