Democrat Angela Alsobrooks defeated Republican Larry Hogan in the Maryland Senate race, according to the Associated Press, holding on to a seat Republicans hoped they could flip.
Alsobrooks, the Prince George’s County executive, will succeed retiring Democrat Ben Cardin.
