Japan’s Stocks Rebound Ahead of US Vote; Trading Hours Extended

Japanese stocks closed higher on their first day of extended trading hours, rebounding from Friday’s drop on strong corporate earnings.

The Topix closed 0.8% up at 2,664.26 at 3:30 p.m. in Tokyo, after reaching an intraday high of 2,671.6 at one point in the final thirty minutes of trading. The Nikkei 225 closed 1.1% higher at 38,474.9.
