Severe Tropical Storm Trami has unleashed widespread flooding across the main island of the Philippines that’s affected more than 2 million people, leading to evacuations and suspended government operations.
Heavy rain turned low-lying areas into rivers, with the Bicol region south of the capital Manila bearing the brunt of Trami, which crossed the east coast of Luzon late Wednesday evening. Twenty-four people have died and nearly 200,000 people have been evacuated as rescue efforts continue.
