Artificial intelligence search company Perplexity AI has started fundraising talks in which it aims to more than double its valuation to $8 billion or more, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.

Perplexity has told investors it hopes to raise about $500 million in the new funding round, the Journal said, citing people familiar with the matter. The terms could change and the funding might not come together, the paper said.
