The former engineering chief of the defunct cryptocurrency exchange FTX asked a judge not to send him to prison for its collapse, citing his cooperation with the government in the prosecution of co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried.

Nishad Singh’s lawyers told a Manhattan federal judge in a memo filed late Wednesday that he deserves leniency at his Oct. 30 sentencing hearing in light of his limited role in FTX’s implosion, the help he gave to investigators, and “the exemplary life he is committed to leading.”
