This autumn is shaping up to be an especially dynamic season for London’s theater scene, with blockbuster productions opening ahead of the holidays. Sigourney Weaver is making her West End debut in a Shakespearean comedy from superstar director Jamie Lloyd, and John Lithgow’s powerhouse performance as the beloved and problematic children’s author Roald Dahl, at West London’s Royal Court, is the talk of the town.

In addition to American A-listers, there’s plenty of homegrown talent to enjoy, too. The young British writers of the hit musical Six! are back with a very funny show that smartly satirizes the problems with modern dating. Soho Place is staging the experimental drama White Rabbit Red Rabbit for six weeks with no rehearsal, no directors, and a different actor at each performance. Some of Britain’s finest talents, including Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton), Lenny Henry, and Jason Isaacs, will be stepping up to the plate, getting a script in a sealed envelope just before the performance starts.
