Almost three decades ago, Jerry Reinsdorf presided over the NBA’s winningest team ever: The 1996 Chicago Bulls, led by Michael Jordan’s triumphant return to the hardwood.

Now, his Chicago White Sox are on the precipice of standing alone as the losingest team in modern professional baseball. The Sox have dropped 120 games this season, bad enough to tie the 1962 New York Mets, who set the record during their very first season.
