Apple Inc. has green-lit a version of Tencent Holdings Ltd.’s WeChat app ahead of the iPhone 16’s debut, buying more time for ongoing negotiations about changes the US company has demanded to China’s most-used social media platform.

Apple has approved a WeChat update for the iOS ecosystem that Tencent submitted this week, people familiar with the matter said.
