Sequoia Backs Developer Startup Cortex at $470 Million Valuation

Stripe co-founders John and Patrick Collison also joined in the $60 million funding round.

Cortex Applications Inc., a startup that aims to help software developers be more efficient, has raised $60 million from investors including Sequoia Capital, Y Combinator and the co-founders of Stripe Inc.

The deal values the startup at $470 million, and was led by Scale Venture Partners. Eric Anderson, a partner at Scale, is joining the company’s board. Other investors included IVP and Stripe’s John and Patrick Collison.
