Shares of US power companies soared Wednesday after an auction on the biggest US grid awarded generators with record payouts.
Shares of Vistra Corp. surged as much as 20% in its largest intraday gain ever. Constellation Energy Corp. jumped as much as 16%, while NRG Energy Inc. rose as high as 7%.
