The UK and Germany will sign their most comprehensive defense declaration ever as part of efforts by Britain’s new prime minister, Keir Starmer, to rebuild post-Brexit ties European allies.
The pact signed by Defence Secretary John Healey aims to strengthen the defense industries in both nations, improve the efficiency of their joint operations and tackle security challenges posed by cyber technology, the UK Ministry of Defence said on Wednesday in a statement. Healey is on a two-day tour that also includes visits to France, Poland and Estonia.
