Britain’s Non-Dom Population Rose 7% Ahead of Tax Revamp Plans

The number of wealthy UK residents claiming preferential tax treatment on their overseas income and gains climbed about 7.4% ahead of major political parties’ recent proposals to scrap the regime.
Britain had an estimated 74,000 non-domiciled residents in the tax year ended April 5, 2023, up from about 68,900 in the previous 12 months, according to provisional figures published Tuesday by the nation’s tax authority.
