Three potential storms are brewing in the Atlantic Ocean. The most prominent is a patch of thunderstorms and showers several hundred miles west of Cabo Verde with a 90% chance of becoming the season’s next storm in 7 days.

The system — which will be named Beryl if it materializes into a storm — is skirting a cloud of dust and dry air to its north and is headed for the Caribbean Windward Islands. A second tropical wave moving off Africa has a 20% chance of a storm in the next week and a third one in the western Caribbean has a 30% chance.
