Chinese leader Xi Jinping indicated he’ll forge ahead with one of the biggest crackdowns on corruption in the history of his nation, calling for “deep reflection” from the armed forces at a rare meeting aimed at ensuring it remains faithful.
“The barrel of a gun should always be in the hands of those who are loyal to the party,” Xi said at the first “military political work conference” China has convened in a decade, according to the official Xinhua News Agency.
