When Ales Michl became the governor of the Czech central bank, the country was in the throes of its worst cost of living crisis in three decades and he pledged to bring inflation under control within two years.

Fast forward from 2022 and Michl has emerged as one of the first central bankers in Europe to deliver on the goal. But he isn’t ready to announce the mission accomplished.
