Fitch Ratings upgraded Ireland, in a fresh sign of how far the country has come since it was bailed out by the European Union 14 years ago.
The rating was lifted by one notch to AA from AA-, with a stable outlook, the credit-assessment company said in a statement on Friday. Fitch had raised the outlook to positive last July, highlighting its large budget surplus.
