Tesla China Shipments Sink in April Amid Broader Sector Growth

Tesla Inc. shipments from its Shanghai factory dropped in April even as the overall market for new-energy vehicles grew, in another sign of the pressure Elon Musk is under in China’s hyper-competitive car sector.
Tesla’s deliveries, which include cars for domestic sale as well as for export, dropped 18% from a year ago to 62,167 vehicles, preliminary data from China’s Passenger Car Association showed Tuesday.
