Sadiq Khan, who promised more green policies after winning a third term as mayor of London, will have to manage a city that’s even more densely populated and vulnerable to climate change over the next four years.

While Khan has limited powers as mayor, his re-election gives him a mandate to continue tackling environmental problems within his remit, such as car emissions. The mayor oversaw a surge in electric vehicles on the city’s roads within his last two terms — and he plans for thousands more EV chargers to be installed across the UK capital.
