Guinea Dismisses Electricity Chief Amid Protests, Power Cuts

The head of Guinea’s state electricity company was dismissed from his post on Saturday, with the West African nation rocked by protests after repeated power cuts.

The managing director of Électricite de Guinee (EDG), Laye Camara, was dismissed along with deputies Fode Soumah and Abdoulaye Kone, the leader of the country’s junta, General Mamadi Doumbouya, said in a decree read on state-broadcaster Radio Television Guineenne.
