State-owned Electricite de France SA has raised its estimate for the future construction costs of six new atomic reactors in France by 30% to €67.4 billion ($73 billion), a person familiar with the matter said.
The upward revision from a 2021 estimate of €51.7 billion reflects higher than expected procurement costs, and includes contingencies for potential overruns, said the person, who asked not to be named because the assessment isn’t public.
