ECB Says Consumer Inflation Expectations Inched Up in January

Inflation expectations of consumers in the euro zone edged higher in January, according to the European Central Bank, reinforcing the case for a cautious approach to cutting interest rates.
Prices are seen advancing 3.3% over the next 12 months — up from 3.2% in December, the ECB said Friday. For three years ahead they’re expected to increase by 2.5% — unchanged from the previous month.
