Germany’s economy is functioning so far below its capacity that a meaningful recovery is likely to take hold in coming years, according to Fitch Ratings.
The country, whose struggle to generate growth has revived memories of the late 1990s when it was labeled the “sick man of Europe,” just needs some time before it’s ripe for a rebound, economists Charles Seville and Brian Coulton wrote in a report released on Friday.
