Former Pemex Chief Executive Officer Emilio Lozoya was released late Tuesday from a Mexico City prison after a local court granted him house arrest for a high-level corruption case, Reforma newspaper reported.

On Monday, a Mexico City appeals court granted the house arrest to Lozoya for crimes related to corruption in the Odebrecht case, considering that he is no longer a flight risk. Lozoya, who was detained on November 3, 2021, was notified of the decision on Tuesday.
