The UK is preparing for snow later this week, with the Met Office issuing yellow warnings for Thursday and Friday.
The alerts cover much of Wales as well as northern and central England, with as much as 20 centimeters (8 inches) of snow possible over the highest ground. That could disrupt travel and cut off isolated rural communities, the Met Office said. Temperatures could fall as low as -10C in Scotland on Wednesday night, with colder weather spreading across most of the UK from the weekend.
