Copel Shifts Focus to Wind, Solar After Privatization Reshuffle

The Brazilian power utility Companhia Paranaense de Energia plans to invest in wind and solar generation and expand its power distribution business as it seeks to diversify away from hydropower.
More than 80% of the company’s installed capacity come from hydro plants, while only 17% come from wind. That opens up room for more investments in renewable energy generation in the years to come, CEO Daniel Slaviero said in an interview on Tuesday.
