Japan Urges Investment Giants to Tap Asset Management Startups

Japan will urge large investors such as pension funds to consider allocating money to fledgling asset management firms as Prime Minister Fumio Kishida tries to foster growth and competition in the industry.
The proposal is part of a code of conduct for institutional investors that will be finalized by Japan’s summer next year, according to the draft released after a government panel meeting on Wednesday.
