The Swiss National Bank is evaluating whether to raise banks’ minimum reserve requirements, President Thomas Jordan told Neue Zuercher Zeitung.
The central bank is set to stop paying for the money lenders must hold at the institution as a minimum reserve as of December in a move that will save it some 300 million francs ($340 million).
