Delhi Could Use Artificial Rain to Subdue World’s Most Toxic Air

India’s capital is considering the use of artificial rain to lower some of the world’s most severe air pollution.

The Supreme Court on Friday cleared Delhi’s government to explore a type of weather modification called “cloud seeding.” For most of the past week, Delhi’s air quality index has hovered in the “hazardous” category, climbing as high as 609 on Thursday, according to the tracker IQ Air.
