China’s leading Communist Party mouthpiece called for improving ties with the US, the latest sign the relationship is steadying ahead of a possible leaders’ meeting between the world’s largest economies.
“The two countries should be partners rather than adversaries,” the People’s Daily newspaper said in a commentary published Tuesday. “China and the US should cooperate to benefit each other rather than engaging in a zero-sum rivalry.”
