Manhattan Chelsea Building Signs Shopify as New Office Tenant

Shopify Inc. has signed a lease for offices on the far west side of Manhattan, joining a cluster of tech and finance firms expanding in the area.
The Ottawa-based tech company has leased nearly 36,000 square feet (3,300 square meters) of space at Related Cos. and Vornado Realty Trust’s 85 10th Ave., according to a person familiar with the matter. The 11-story building is near Chelsea Market and the High Line, and counts tenants from Alphabet Inc.’s Google to screening company Clear.
