Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador will take a proposal to reduce the flow of migrants up north for discussion with US counterpart Joe Biden after agreeing on a common strategy with other Latin American nations.

AMLO, as the president is known, hosted top officials from nine countries in Palenque, a small city in the south of the country where he owns a ranch, and invited them to tour a famous Maya archaeological site before preparing a statement. He promised on Monday to bring their joint proposals to a meeting with Biden, whom he criticized for his inconsistent policymaking ahead of the 2024 US election.
