Kosovo and Serbia must return to European Union-mediated talks to defuse the risk of renewed violence after gun battle left four people dead last month, a senior US diplomat said.
The EU-backed plan almost unraveled last month following the shooting between ethnic Serbs and police in the northern part of Kosovo. The worse escalation of tensions in nearly two decades has triggered concern that another war may erupt in Europe at the time when Ukraine is under Russian attack.
