Vanderbilt Doubles Down On 'Misleading' Criticism of US News Ranking

Vanderbilt University expanded on its criticism of changes to a popular ranking of US universities, calling the new process “an attack on the very notion of academic excellence.”

University Chancellor Daniel Diermeier took issue with the elimination of “important measures of academic excellence” as well as “wrong and misleading” metrics to track access and social mobility, in the latest US News & World Report college ranking.
