Donald Mustard, the chief creative officer at Fortnite maker Epic Games Inc., is retiring after seven years in the role at the video-game company.

A 25-year industry veteran, Mustard oversaw Epic’s creative direction as the company exploded into the mainstream with Fortnite, a cartoonish first-person shooter game that attracted hundreds of millions of players globally.
