Last year, global energy transition investment topped $1.1 trillion, according to BloombergNEF. The International Energy Agency, using a more expansive definition of energy transition, tracked $1.7 trillion dollars in 2022. With 2023’s wind and solar installations expected to exceed 440 gigawatts, and equipment costs stable year-on-year, it is a new era where a trillion dollars of investment is the floor, not the ceiling.
