Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is considering new measures to handle issues with the rollout of a national identification card that have damaged support for his administration, the Yomiuri newspaper reported Saturday.
The “My Number” ID card is set to be a requirement for access to health care beginning in autumn 2024, replacing existing health insurance cards. The premier may delay the timing of the change, the report said.
