European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen asked the bloc’s competition chief, Margrethe Vestager, to avoid any conflicts of interest related to her candidacy to run the European Investment Bank.
In a letter obtained by Bloomberg, von der Leyen calls on Vestager to confirm when she will have to stop working for the European Union’s executive arm as part of her nomination to the EIB and to ensure that she will not use commission resources as part of her candidacy.
