Top officials of South Africa’s governing African National Congress held talks with US Ambassador Reuben Brigety, a week after the American envoy publicly accused the party of being hostile to the US.
ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula and national spokeswoman Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri were part of the delegation that met Brigety on Wednesday, photos posted on Mbalula’s Twitter page show. Mbalula said earlier this week he planned to meet the ambassador to understand the issues he had raised about the party.
