The $105,000 Lotus Emira Looks Like a Supercar—for Half the Price

With a manual gearbox and agile handling, this “baby Ferrari” gives the 718 Porsche Cayman a run for its money.

Lotus recently started deliveries of the Eletre, an electric SUV that is all the rage in China, where parent company Geely is transitioning the British brand to go all electric.

On a recent drive out here in California, on the wild edge of a continent far from China, all that EV hoopla seems about as real as a Ridley Scott film. I’m in the 2024 Lotus Emira, blasting a supercharged V6 engine past ochre super blooms and midcentury modern mansions halfway up Mulholland Drive.
