Zimbabwe’s president and his deputy were allegedly paid by a chrome miner, which was granted tax breaks and exemptions from local ownership laws, according to The Sentry.
African Chrome Fields, a unit of Johannesburg-based Moti Group that operates in Zimbabwe, paid $1 million to a farm owned by Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa and $2 million to a company allegedly controlled by an investment manager to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, the US-based nonprofit said in a report published Friday.
