French unions called for a fresh day of nationwide strikes and marches on June 6 in what will be the 14th wave of protests against President Emmanuel Macron’s unpopular reform of the pension system.

On May 1, some 782,000 people protested across France, 112,000 of whom were in Paris, the Interior Ministry said. The numbers were higher, according to the CGT labor union, which reported a total of 2.3 million people across the country.
