Expat Students at Hong Kong Schools Decline 12% Amid Exodus

The number of non-local students at Hong Kong international schools has fallen 12% in four years, reflecting the wave of expatriate departures during the pandemic.
There were 26,768 non-local students enrolled at the city’s international schools in the current academic year, comprising 66% of the total intake, according to the education bureau. That’s down from 30,499, and 74%, respectively, in 2019-2020.
