Europe’s Blue-Chip Index Inches Toward Highest Since 2007

The euro area’s blue-chip index is finally within striking distance of its highest close since the global financial crisis.

The Euro Stoxx 50 gained as much as 0.3% on Monday, briefly putting it on track to close at its highest level since December 2007, before dipping 0.5% by the close. ASML Holding NV, LVMH and BNP Paribas SA were among the biggest underperfomers today.
