Chipotle Lawsuit Resolved After Sweetgreen Renames Burrito Bowl

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. resolved its pending lawsuit against Sweetgreen Inc. for trademark infringement after the saladmaker agreed to change the name of a new menu item.

“We are pleased that Sweetgreen has chosen to amend their materials in a manner that protects our trademarks and intellectual property, and therefore, we have both agreed to resolve the pending lawsuit,” Chipotle’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Laurie Schalow wrote in an email. “We will continue our vigilance in protecting our intellectual property in the marketplace.”
