Labour Party leader Keir Starmer vowed to take on big technology companies that profit from the sale of weapons or promote content that helps radicalize young people.
The UK’s opposition leader said “standing up” to tech firms is an integral part of tackling crime. Politicians can’t ignore “the fact a child can go onto the internet and buy a machete as easily as a football” or that social media algorithms “bombard young minds with misogyny,” he said.
