Chinese dissident and artist Ai Weiwei is selling his New York apartment, and anyone who visits will get to see some of his work.
The minimalist West Chelsea condo, which Ai has owned since 2008, has been staged with several of his works, including “Dancers,” a black-and-white painting from 1983 that evokes works by Henri Matisse and Keith Haring. Three of his “Marble Chair” sculptures, their shapes reminiscent of a yokeback chair Ai’s family was able to keep when exiled during his childhood, sit in the living room, as does a zipper-like brick-and-metal sculpture.
