Swiss Weapons Makers Say Arms Law Puts Them in Existential Bind

Switzerland’s strict stance on arms exports to conflict areas will see local weapons makers leaving the country or going out of business if the laws aren’t changed, according to their industry association Swissmem.

“Current Swiss export law deprives defense firms of their basis for business,” Swissmem spokesman Matthias Zoller told broadcaster SRF. “You can either produce abroad or you will go bankrupt in the medium term.”
